The metric system originnated in France in 1799 following the French chaos although decimal units had been used in maany extra countries and cultures previously. Although there have been many exchange measurements and the definitions of the unitss have been revised, the ascribed system of measurements of most countries is the advancd form of the metric system which is known as the "International System of Units".
